Over the past year, I have learnt many skills such as editing pictures on photoshop. I had some understanding of how to use photoshop as I had briefly used it before in year 11, however in year 12 for my coursework I picked up more skills as I made a magazine front cover, double page spread and a contents page. Skills that I picked up were skills such as editing pictures on photoshop by adding or deleting the background of the picture and blurring the outline of the picture and the background to make it seem as if it's blended in and doesn't look too sharp. I also learnt how to layer images as I had to put a text layer on top of my pictures to give it the magazine effect.

I also had skills of using a camcorder as I knew how to load a tape into the camcorder and how to do camera edits such as zooming in and out or using different settings such as black and white/sepia etc.. I also knew how to record and how to stop recording. However, I picked up new skills last year from my film studies project where I had to make a short extract film and I learnt some video editing skills. I used the software known as 'Premier' which allowed me to cut the footage out that I didn't need or move footage around as I recorded different scenes in different order. It also allow me to speed up time, however, I used the opposite skill and slowed down time. I also learnt how to add effects such as a blackout which allows the audience to assume that time has gradually passed or something is about to happen .. Along with the effects, I learnt how to add a soundtrack to go with my short extract movie and how to remove actual sound footage that I had recorded naturally.
