Example of film trailers
This film trailer starts off with the location setting which is in France, which is shown as a peaceful place, until we see Mr Bean arriving off the train. The non diagect music, which is 'Glora Gaynor - I Will Survive', is seen to be jolly and a fast paced song which reflects on Mr Beans movements carried out as he does silly things but will also suvive. This trailer emphasis on Mr Beans stupidity which is quite humourous for the audience as he finds the simple things the hardest. We also get text on the screen which introduce Mr Beans characteristics as 'Smarter,Cooler etc..' The colours that are used on the text also emphasis on the character as they are bright, happy and vibrant.

- 'Charlie Chaplin: The Kid'
The Charlie Chaplins story of 'The Kid' is in black and white. This short clip shows the slapstick humour of the kid smashing windows and Charlie just happening to be there to fix the broken windows for a small fee. The fast pace edit is used to create it more comical for its audience.

This film was made in 1915. The trailer which is in black and white and is a silent film which has a few diagect sounds which allows the audience to feel the experience as if they were in the film too. We also see the text on the scene ("Seen by more people than any film ever produce!") which attracts the audiences attention by making it sound appealing to all audiences and makes them want to see it even more.

'Charlie Chaplin' The Times Magazine

This magazine cover is taken from TIME and was released in July 6th, 1925.
The magazine front cover is in black and white due to colour print was not introduced then. The title of the magazine is in bold to make it stand out so it attracts the audience eye.
The main image on the front cover we see is of Charlie Chaplin which shows that he is the main focus of this edition of the TIME magazine. The clothes that Charlie Chaplin wears such as wearing the bowler hat and carrying a walking stick reflects on the time period he was around in and that he is quite old.
'Mr Bean Goes On Holiday' Poster

This poster of Mr Beans film grabs the audiences attention straight away as it's simple and yet so colourful and bright. The images we see is of the main character himself; Mr Bean and a chicken. The image goes along with the statement 'One of these two has a brain the size of a peanut' which suggests that Mr Bean is dumber than the chicken. This also adds to the comedy element. This poster is targetted towards a family audience, we know this by the way mr bean is standing, he's pulling a funny face and not trying to be sexually attracted or anything along them lines.
The colours used on the font such as orange on the word 'Holiday' reflects on a summer theme which also tells the audience when the film is set and that it is a summer film. The colour of Mr Beans clothing also reflects on his personality, the red tie connotes danger as he is seen as a hazard because he's so clumsy. The brown blazer jacket is seen as an old jacket and looks quite dull and has no fashion to it.

Aims: To create a silent comedy film for a family audience.
Target audience: Family.
Basic outline of my film: It's like a Mr Bean type of comedy; it's about a man who listens to the weather man everyday and dresses appropiately for the weather, however, as the weather is always unreliable, the opposite weather occurs and after 7days of having the same troubles everyday, he decides to move to a different country for better weather which is reliable, however, it's the same as when he goes abroad.

Write an analysis of your skills using digital media technologies. Identify any gaps in your skills that you will need to develop for the next piece of coursework.
Over the past year, I have learnt many skills such as editing pictures on photoshop. I had some understanding of how to use photoshop as I had briefly used it before in year 11, however in year 12 for my coursework I picked up more skills as I made a magazine front cover, double page spread and a contents page. Skills that I picked up were skills such as editing pictures on photoshop by adding or deleting the background of the picture and blurring the outline of the picture and the background to make it seem as if it's blended in and doesn't look too sharp. I also learnt how to layer images as I had to put a text layer on top of my pictures to give it the magazine effect.
I also had skills of using a camcorder as I knew how to load a tape into the camcorder and how to do camera edits such as zooming in and out or using different settings such as black and white/sepia etc.. I also knew how to record and how to stop recording. However, I picked up new skills last year from my film studies project where I had to make a short extract film and I learnt some video editing skills. I used the software known as 'Premier' which allowed me to cut the footage out that I didn't need or move footage around as I recorded different scenes in different order. It also allow me to speed up time, however, I used the opposite skill and slowed down time. I also learnt how to add effects such as a blackout which allows the audience to assume that time has gradually passed or something is about to happen .. Along with the effects, I learnt how to add a soundtrack to go with my short extract movie and how to remove actual sound footage that I had recorded naturally.
